In-Business Tax Workshop

This free In-Business Tax Workshop will concentrate on topics specific to help the entrepreneur who has started their business and is looking for a refresher or help to understand the following topics:

  • What you need to know about federal taxes when hiring employees/contractors
    • Employee vs. independent contractor
    • Payer responsibilities
    • Verify employee information
    • File Forms W-2 online/FIRE system
  • How to manage your payroll
    • Wages subject to employment taxes
    • Accountable vs. non-accountable plans
    • How to make tax deposits and file a return to report
      your payroll taxes

Free parking available on site. This class is taught by an instructor who is qualified to practice before the IRS. Class participation along with Q&A may take the class longer. This workshop DOES NOT award Continuing Professional Education credit and is not intended for tax professionals.

Small Business Tax Workshop

This workshop is designed for the small business owner, manager, or the self-employed. Explore business use of home, independent contractors vs. employees, employment taxes, tax forms, and electronic filing methods.

Information on record keeping, types of business entities, Schedules C & SE and employment taxes will be covered. The employment tax segment provides an overview of Forms 941 & 940, including e-file, EFTPS due dates. IRS publications and electronic resources made available as part of class materials.

Note: Workshops may be cancelled due to insufficient registration or poor weather. This workshop DOES NOT award Continuing Professional Education credit.
