What this notice is about
CP575 is a digital notice that confirms your Employer Identification Number. It is available only through Business Tax Account and can be used as a substitute for the original CP575A-J notice series and Letter 147C, EIN Previously Assigned.
What you need to do
- Keep this notice in your permanent records.
- Use your EIN on all items you send to the IRS and the Social Security Administration in connection with your business activities.

You may need to confirm your EIN when you open a bank account for your entity or obtain other business services.
Can I request a copy of my original CP575A-J notice?
No. The original CP575A-J series, Notice of New Employer Identification Number, cannot be duplicated or recreated.
Is the digital CP575 the equivalent of Letter 147C, EIN Previously Assigned?
Yes. The digital CP575 is accepted by banks and other institutions as written confirmation of an entity’s EIN.
