System notification delays Due to high filing volume, you may receive delayed system notifications from IDES. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue. The International Data Exchange Service (IDES) is an electronic delivery point where financial institutions (FI) and host country tax authorities (HCTA) can transmit and exchange FATCA data with the United States. 1. What is it? A secure web application for FIs and HCTAs to transmit FATCA data directly to the IRS. The data is in a standard XML schema format and captures the FATCA report information. Download the schema at FATCA XML schemas and business rules for Form 8966. 2. What does it do? It transmits data securely. The sender encrypts the data and IDES encrypts the transmission pathway to protect your transfers. It runs in all major browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox. You can also do bulk data transfers via SFTP. 3. How can I learn more? Find out how to create an online account using the IDES enrollment site!
