IRS YouTube videos can help taxpayers with their taxes

IRS Tax Tip 2020-39, March 19, 2020

The IRS YouTube channel has short videos that answer common taypayer questions and even walk them through how to complete certain forms. The channel has videos on a variety of topics. Here are few of them:

First time filing a tax return? (Obsolete) – This video introduces first-time filers to Free File, tax preparation software only offered through IRS.gov. Using it can help taxpayers find credits and deductions for which they may be eligible. It covers other free tax preparation options including the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, protecting personal data and much more.

American Sign Language and multilingual videos – On the IRS YouTube channel, taxpayers can watch short, informative videos in English, Spanish and American Sign Language.

Missing W-2 – This video explain what taxpayers should do if they don't receive a Form W-2 from their employer and they want to file their tax return. It covers how to complete Form 4852, Substitute for Form W-2, and file it with their return. It also explains how to file an amended return if they get their W-2 late.

IRS2Go Mobile App – Watching this video can help people learn about its features, and how to navigate it. The app is available in English and Spanish.
