Hello, I’m IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel, and I want to let Tax Professionals know about an important opportunity. This is a historic time at the IRS, with change taking place across the agency with our ongoing transformation work. These changes will mean a lot for those in the tax pro community. This summer, you will have a chance to learn more about these changes made possible by Inflation Reduction Act funding – as well as many other important tax updates. This will all be part of the 2024 IRS Nationwide Tax Forums, and I encourage you to consider registering at one of the five locations across the country. Last year, more than 11,000 tax professionals joined us across the country to earn continuing education credits and receive real-time updates on how the IRS is evolving to meet their needs and their clients’ needs. Our classes provide a great opportunity to learn and earn continuing education credits. In addition to learning the latest on transforming the agency and improving service, forum sessions will offer updates on hot topics, tax law changes, cybersecurity, ethics and other issues from IRS experts and our partners. Another important benefit is the opportunity to make an appointment to bring your toughest tax case to the case resolution room. There, you can meet one-on-one with IRS reps who may be able to help resolve your issue. And you can visit our Exhibit Hall to discover the most up-to-date software and services designed by IRS and industry partners specifically for tax professionals. We will have IRS staff onsite ready to help you on a variety of issues. We’ve been working hard to ensure that the IRS Nationwide Tax Forum program provides the information and services you need. I’m confident you will find it a valuable and enjoyable experience. So please join us this summer for one of the 2024 Nationwide Tax Forums, which will be held in five cities – Chicago, Orlando, Baltimore, Dallas and San Diego. We encourage you to register soon; some of these locations fill up quickly. We hope to see you there.
