Free File Fillable Forms payment help

Check a tax payment

Free File Fillable Forms technical support cannot verify or trace a tax payment. Choose how you paid to find the correct IRS tool.

Important: An acceptance email confirms that the IRS accepted the return for processing. It does not confirm that a scheduled payment or bank withdrawal succeeded.

A bank withdrawal scheduled as part of an electronically filed return is an Electronic Funds Withdrawal.

  1. Check your bank statement on or after the scheduled payment date.
  2. Sign in to IRS Online Account to review payment activity, including pending or scheduled payments.
  3. Use the Electronic Funds Withdrawal page for the current inquiry, cancellation and contact instructions.

After the IRS accepts the return, you cannot edit the bank information in the return. Follow the current cancellation instructions and use another payment method if you need to change it. Electronic funds withdrawal help
