WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service’s next Tax Talk Today program picks up where the December show left off. The program, “Getting Ready for the Filing Season 2008: Part 2 (Businesses),” will be available Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at 2 p.m.

The January panel of experts will include Betsey Buckingham, enrolled agent and tax principal at Murray Wells Wendeln & Robinson CPAs, Inc.; Curt Freeman, branch chief, IRS Business Forms & Publications; Jerry Heschel, field director, IRS Submission Processing; and Floyd Thomas, Georgia state chair, National Society of Tax Professionals.

They will discuss tax issues facing businesses, including recent tax law changes, updates for the 2007 tax year, IRS regulations, business credits, common errors and processing issues.

Tax Talk Today is a webcast aimed at educating tax and payroll professionals on the most current and complex tax issues. Tax professionals are encouraged to watch and submit questions.

To access the webcast at no charge, viewers can register online at www.TaxTalkToday.tv. Tax professionals in need of continuing education credits (CECs) are eligible to receive one CEC by viewing the Jan. 8 webcast.

NOTE: There will be no Tax Talk Today in February. The next show, “International Tax Issues: Understanding Tax Treaties,” will air on Tuesday, March 11, 2008: 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
