Submissions are not processed in the 1040 MeF Assurance Testing System (ATS) in the exact manner that they are processed in the Production (live returns) System. In order to mimic the responses States will receive from IRS for state submissions in Production, the following values are set in ATS for the 1040 MeF Program:

- The Secondary SSN Validation Status is set based on the range of the last 2 digits of the Secondary SSN.
