Beginning in 2026, if the IRS has issued you a CP53E notice, you may update your bank account information in your online account. Your online account will show if a CP53E notice has been issued. Please refer to Understanding your CP53E notice for more details.

If a CP53E notice has not been issued and we have posted your tax return to our system, you cannot change your bank account information.
