You indicated that a child's capital gains or losses are included on your return Form 1040, Line 7b but Form 8814 is missing.
Solution
If you indicated that you are including a child's capital gains or losses on your return, you must also include Form 8814.
- Attach Form 8814 to your return, or
- If you are not including the child's capital gains or losses, remove the selection indicating that choice.
After making the correction, resubmit your return.
If you are making a payment, you may have to re-date Step 3, Payment Options.
